DESCRIPTION:This hike has been cancelled in favour of a local hike.\n\nUnfo
 rtunately there is not enough snow for a snowshoe here (it may still snow 
 lots by Jan 14th)\, but there is lots of snow at Nickel Plate. So we can d
 o our first outing there. Nickel Plate has an extensive system of snowshoe
  trails\, at times  some of these trails cross the X-C trails and for thi
 s reason no dogs are allowed in this area.\nThere is a trail that goes to 
 Nickel Plate Lake on the other side of the road where dogs are allowed. I 
 have no information on these trails\, but they are well-used.\nWhat we nee
 d to know is how many of you are interested in doing this trip! If no one 
 shows any interest\, we will organize a walk for that date. We need to kno
 w by Jan. 12th if it’s a go. Going up to Nickel Plate involves vehicles 
 with 4 wheel drive\, or a vehicle with high clearance.\nCar pooling is pos
 sible provided that there is enough people participating.
