SUMMARY:Presentation: Travels in Japan with Nienke Klaver & Ed Staples
DESCRIPTION:This past April\, Nienke Klaver and Ed Staples returned to Japa
 n\, a country they called home for ten years. The main focus of their trip
  was to explore the amazing pottery culture that has endured for centuries
  throughout the country\, with the goal of visiting the Six Ancient Kilns
 of Japan. Along the way they visited Kyoto\, Japan’s cultural capital\;
 Kurokawa\, the most picturesque onsen (hot spring) town in the country\; I
 tsukushima\, the 16th century Shinto shrine with its iconic orange gate th
 at “floats” at high tide\; and Himeji\, the site of Japan’s best pre
 served castle. Their slideshow presentation will highlight their month-lon
 g travels.
