Hello members, a naturalists’ outing is organized for this coming weekend. It involves driving up a gravel road which will not necessarily be in good condition, so it is suggested that only vehicles with high clearance are desirable. There are no water bars to hinder travel (as far as I know).
Particulars:
Destination: A hike from Vortex Mountain to Agate Mountain Fire Lookout and back. From Vortex Mountain you will get an incredible view of mountains to the West. From there we follow an existing old trail which is an old road that goes all the way to Agate Mountain. Along the way there may still be some flowers, although in spring this area is covered in amazing flowers, but with this hot weather they may not be around. Also a pair of peregrine falcons have been seen at the top of Agate Mountain. From the lookout you get a splendid view of the Similkameen Valley.

Other: Bring a lunch, plenty of water (promises to be a hot day) sun screen,
