Jade Spruyt is a wildlife biologist who has worked with a variety of taxa including reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. Originally from the prairies, she moved to BC to pursue her Master of Science degree at Thompson Rivers University. Her research assesses the effectiveness of mitigation measures at reducing Western Rattlesnake roadkill in the White Lake Basin of the South Okanagan. She will present on the different species of snakes in the area, how to identify them, tips for when you encounter a snake, threats they face, and her research findings.
